MI Symptoms Summary
Chest pain or discomfort: This is the most common symptom of MI. The pain may be described as a pressure or squeezing sensation in the chest. It can also feel like indigestion or heartburn.
Pain or discomfort in other areas of the upper body: This can include pain or discomfort in the arms, back, neck, jaw, or stomach.
Shortness of breath: This can occur with or without chest pain.
Sweating: This may be sudden and unexplained.
Nausea or vomiting: This may occur along with other symptoms.
Feeling lightheaded or dizzy: This can occur with or without chest pain.
Fatigue: This can occur in the days or weeks leading up to a heart attack.
It's important to note that some people may not experience chest pain at all during a heart attack. Women, in particular, may have different or less typical symptoms, such as fatigue, shortness of breath, and nausea or vomiting. If you experience any of these symptoms, especially if they are new or unusual for you, seek medical attention right away.
